While Haval hasn’t announced pricing, the current model retails for 98,900-143,900 yuan (14,600-21,300 USD). The H6 is GWM’s all-time best-selling model, having delivered 4.5 million units since 2011. What’s new with the H6 The refresh is intended for the 4th-generation H6 and introduces design changes that make it more similar to the 3rd-generation H6. This similarity extends to the refreshed trim’s name, as Haval is calling it the “2026 Classic Edition.” So far, only one trim has been confirmed. Additionally, it is now equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip and features GWM’s “Coffee OS” interactive cabin system. The firm also says it now supports more complex voice commands. The rear of the “Classic Edition” gains an upgrade, with a power liftgate now standard. The exterior of the refreshed H6. Pricing Haval hasn’t revealed pricing for the H6 refresh, but current 4th-gen “Classic Edition” models start at 121,900 yuan (18,000 USD). Limp sales have triggered fierce discounts, with some Chinese dealers cutting prices by over 30%, or 40,000 yuan (5,900 USD). Launched in 2017, the 2nd-generation H6 remains available as Haval’s low-cost entry. Dubbed the “China Chic (Guo Chao) Edition,” this budget model drives the H6’s entry price below 100,000 yuan. Powertrain The refreshed H6 comes exclusively with a 1.5-litre turbo engine, delivering 135 kW (181 hp) as seen in other 4th-gen H6 models. It pairs with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and is strictly offered with a FWD drivetrain. Existing H6 trims are also available with a 175 kW (235 hp) 2.0-litre turbo engine, paired with a 9-speed DCT and an AWD drivetrain. The “China Chic” 2nd gen trims, however, make do with an older FWD powertrain, with the 1.5-litre turbo engine only putting out 110 kW (147 hp). Chassis and Specifications The current 4th gen “Classic Edition” H6 features front McPherson struts, and rear multi-link suspension. It measures 4,653 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, 1,730 mm in height, and has a 2,738 mm wheelbase. Curb weight is specified as 1,560 kg. The model offers L2 assisted driving, though it isn’t GWM’s latest Coffee Pilot system. It relies on a single forward-facing camera and lacks mmWave radar. A 540-degree camera system is present, though, to assist with parking and tight maneuvers. More on the Haval H6 The H6 is one of China’s most successful SUV models, having held the title of best-selling SUV in China for over 100 months. It also holds the monthly sales record in the Chinese market, delivering 80,495 units in December 2016. The Haval H6’s domestic deliveries, June 2025 to May 2026. Source: China EV DataTracker It was eventually usurped by Tesla’s Model Y, and as the rise of new energy vehicles (NEVs) further marginalised the H6, China EV DataTracker reported that the H6 delivered only 2,146 units in May 2026, 38 times fewer than its record-breaking monthly peak. H6 sales have consistently slid, not once breaking 10,000 units a month in the past year. Tech updates help, but aggressive pricing may be crucial to regain ground. Source: Weibo – GWM
