Let's explore the practicality of Jeep's double cab bakkie, the Gladiator!
Safe car seats
Up until the launch of Ford’s monstrous Ranger Raptor, the Jeep Gladiator was South Africa’s ultimate lifestyle double cab bakkie. With practicality and off-road ability, which you can learn about when you read our Gladiator launch report. As a lifestyle product, the Gladiator will need to be safe, practical and versatile, but can you fit 3 car seats in the back?
The Gladiator was crash tested by ANCAP, the new car assessment program for Australia and New Zealand. They are part of the NCAP family. The test was conducted in 2020 and the Gladiator scored 3 from a possible 5 stars, and you can find the full results here.
Two proper anchors
One of the key safety features for those with children is ISOFIX mounting points for car seats, which the Gladiator features on the outer rear seats. This means that mounting two child seats at the rear will be possible, however, a third seat would have to be mounted via the top tether, which is not ideal. Therefore, two car seats can fit in the rear of the Jeep Gladiator.
