The country’s third-largest automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Limited took the entire nation by storm with the launch of its newest SUV XUV700 in October of 2021. The successor to the sensationally hit XUV500 proved itself to be a worthy replacement as it received massive praise from the entire automotive community and the general public of the nation just after being unveiled.
The XUV700 since then has kept its momentum of being the most sought after SUV currently for sale in the country and recently Mahindra announced that the bookings for the XUV700 have crossed the 1 lakh unit mark in a span of just 4 months.
Currently, the waiting period on the XUV700 is of more than 6 months and during the recent Q3 Financial results press conference, Veejay Nakra, CEO, Mahindra and Mahindra said, “The supply of semi-conductors will continue to be an issue and we don’t see signs of normalcy till the next 6-9 months. The higher waiting period on the XUV700 and the Thar will continue, but by and large, if you see that the models with high demand do have a waiting period for more than 6 months, but it will take some time to bring this waiting period down.”
The bookings for this mighty SUV opened on the 7th of October, 2021, and within the first three hours, it already garnered a total of 50,000 bookings. Making it one of the most successful launches in Indian automotive history. The company initially prioritized the deliveries of the petrol variants starting in October of last year itself but towards the end of November 2021, the deliveries of the diesel variants also began.

The more powerful version of the two comes on the AX variants which puts out a good 185 PS of max power and 420 Nm (450 Nm with AT) of peak torque. Also, an optional all-wheel drive system is available for the diesel AT top-end variants.
