The difference in price between the two is enough to essentially buy a new Corvette Stingray.
The 2023 Corvette Z06 configurator has finally arrived, which means that we can all spend far too much time toying around with our dream spec of the new supercar, or perhaps even a more reasonable, budget build of sorts. Even though most of us won’t be able to actually take delivery of our creation any time soon, it’s a fun exercise, and also an enlightening one. And that’s precisely what motivated us to do precisely that and figure out what the cheapest and most expensive 2023 Corvette Z06 configurations are.
On the bottom end, one would opt for a coupe, which features a base price of $106,695, minus the $1,395 destination freight charge and $2,600 gas guzzler tax, as the drop top costs a few thousand more. We’d also have to stick with the base 1LZ trim and avoid the extra-cost paint colors, stripes, graphics, wheel upgrades, painted calipers, and other niceties. Ultimately, this lands us at $109,295, which is simply the base price plus the aforementioned required fees.
That certainly isn’t bad for a car packing the most powerful naturally-aspirated production V8 in history, but let’s be honest – most folks aren’t going to buy one of these things with zero options. As such, we also decided to see just what the most expensive C8 Corvette Z06 spec is, and as one might imagine, the price difference between these two is significant.
For that, we chose the convertible, which bases out at $117,790 with applicable fees, and added the 3LZ package, which bumps the price up to $131,140. We opted for Amplify Orange Tintcoat paint, which adds $995 to that total, along with stripes, painted brake calipers, bronze center caps, wheel locks, fancier interior adornments, carbon fiber wheels, and of course, the Z07 Performance Package. When the dust settled, we had spent a whopping $182,180.
That means one can purchase a new Z06 and spent $72,885 more or less than someone else buying the same car – a truly stunning number, indeed. After all, that’s enough to essentially purchase a base Z06 plus a Stingray, and that raises a very important question – are all of these optional features and packages really worth it?
