Gorgeous 1963 Corvette Is One Fine Example Of a Split-Window
When the hammer fell, this beautiful coupe sold for a whopping $253,000.
Impressive Sum
Split-window Corvettes are arguably hotter than ever on the collector market, drumming up a tremendous amount of interest, albeit in a pretty pricey world. Thus, it’s no surprise that this amazing 1963 Corvette coupe that recently crossed the block at Mecum’s Harrisburg auction raked in an impressive $253,000 once the hammer finally fell.

Simply Stunning
The buyer did get one heck of a nice car for that large outlay of cash, at least, as this particular ’63 has a lot going for it. For starters, it’s fresh off a full nut-and-bolt “no expenses spared” restoration, and it looks absolutely stunning in its fresh Sebring Silver paint as a result.

Flawless Exterior
The gorgeous vintage Corvette wears a set of factory spinner wheel covers and correct white stripe tires, adding to the effect of that flawless exterior. The car has been stored in climate-controlled storage as well, which has helped preserve that work quite nicely.

Nice Cabin
The same goes for the black interior, which is a very nice place to be as well. Quite a bit of work has gone into making the cabin like new, including the installation of a restored dash with factory gauges and a factory three-spoke steering wheel, among other goodies.

Time Warp
That list continues with the addition of a new AC Delco AM/FM radio and fresh door panels, carpet, and headliner to give this interior a total makeover in that regard. It’s truly like taking a time warp back to a very different era, every time you climb inside.

Fuelie Coupe
What makes this 1963 Corvette even more special is what powers it – GM’s Rochester fuel-injected 327 cubic-inch V8, which was rated to produce 360 horsepower in this guise. This car is one of just 2,610 units produced with that particular powerplant, which is mated to a four-speed manual transmission.

Justified Price
Equally rare and beautiful, this C2 has since garnered a Bloomington Gold Certification and is a multiple-time NCRS Top Flight winner, and it’s easy to see why. It’s simply got everything one could want in a split-window coupe, which helps justify its quarter-million dollar price tag at least a little.
