The price difference between a ‘regular’ C8 Corvette Coupe and the new Z06 is $146,000, putting the $336,000 Z06 in Porsche 911 Carrera GTS territory
GMSV, the importer of Chevrolet products for Australia and New Zealand, has today announced pricing and specification for its latest flagship Corvette, the Z06.
Priced from $336,000, the C8 Corvette Z06 will become the flagship supercar offered by Chevrolet in Australia.
The sum makes the Z06 $146,000 more expensive than the most highly-specified non-Z06 Corvette Stingray 3LT Coupe, priced at $190,000. A Convertible equivalent pushes that to $205,000.
The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will soon launch in Australia
It pitches the Z06 3LZ Coupe against strong competition like the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS ($355,200), McLaren 540C ($350,000), Mercedes-AMG GT C ($341,076) and even the Lamborghini Huracan RWD ($384,187). All prices are before on-roads.
The new Z06 variant has been stated to be a “measured volume proposition”, with “availability to be very controlled”.
For those lucky to get their hands on one, the Z06 is set to launch in Australia late in 2023.

What do you get with your $336,000 Corvette Z06?
Firstly, the Z06’s engine is completely different to the 6.2-litre engine featured in the standard Corvette. Chevrolet has installed a 5.5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 that features a flat-plane crank design (like a Ferrari) that can rev to a ceiling of 8600rpm.
This engine produces 475kW of power and 595Nm of torque, and is mated to an eight-speed dual clutch transmission. These numbers show Australia-bound Z06s share European tuning rather than the slightly more powerful US market numbers.

No 0-100km/h time has been revealed, but the US Z06s claim a 0-60mph (97km/h) of 2.6-seconds, which sounds plenty for a naturally aspirated weapon.
Reining things in are giant 370mm front Brembo discs, with 380mm discs on the rear. Six piston calipers are used on the fronts, up from the four piston units used in the normal Corvette.
All Z06s from GMSV feature the 3LT pack, meaning features such as carbon-fibre steering wheel and shift paddles, leather door panels and GT2 bucket seats finished in Nappa leather and a carbon fibre garnish.

What if I want an even more involved driving experience?
An optional Z07 pack will be available that features larger brakes with carbon ceramic rotors, carbon fibre air strikes, front splitter, front dive planes and high wing spoiler.
Unique suspension tuning, “ultra-performance tyres” and carbon fibre wheels are also part of the package.
