2022 Ford Fiesta: What is it?
The Ford Fiesta has been the UK’s best selling car for what feels like forever. The good value supermini offers a practical B-segment solution at a fair price, with the added bonus of being a great handling car.
Ford are set to update its hugely popular model.
2022 Ford Fiesta: What is it powered by?
Ford only recently updated its engine lineup for the Fiesta, meaning that this revised model will likely stick with what’s under the bonnet today. That means an entry-level 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine in various power outputs, and with the option of a mild-hybrid powertrain. Manual and automatic transmissions will be offered as they are today.
The 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine is reserved for the fantastic Fiesta ST hot hatchback.
We don’t believe there are any plans to reintroduce a diesel engine.
2022 Ford Fiesta: When will it be on sale?
We’re not totally certain when Ford intend to introduce its new Fiesta, a model that will consist primarily of external tweaks to keep the model up to date. We could see the car revealed by the end of the year, ready for an early 2022 launch.
2022 Ford Fiesta: How much will it cost
Again, with test mules just hitting the road, pricing is far from confirmed. Currently an entry-level Fiesta kicks off at £16,645 and so a modest price increase on that is to be expected. A sticker figure close to £17,000 would be a sensible guess.
