The Ford Everest Wildtrak is as you expect, big, imposing, confident and more but looks can be deceiving, so how roomy is it?
The current generation Ford Everest Wildtrak is a tank of a vehicle. The offroad 7-seater family SUV isn’t here to play games, and the Everest range has expanded recently with the Wildtrak. If you’re keen to read some thoughts on the Everest Wildtrak, you can check out my colleague Sean Nurse’s review over here.
Thanks to a wider track and longer wheelbase, the Everest Wildtrak, let alone the whole range, benefits from more cabin space. Ford deems the interior of the Everest a sanctuary filled with luxury, comfort and safety too. Extra touches in the Wildtrak include yellow stitching around the cabin and the Wildtrak lettering on the seatbacks, which are 8-way adjustable, might we add. Last up, there’s a powered Moon roof to add some light to the cabin’s roominess. Speaking of roominess, how roomy is the Everest Wildtrak?
Dimensions
In terms of dimensions, the overall length, including the towbar, is 4940mm, the width, including mirrors, is 2234mm, and the overall height is 1844mm. As mentioned earlier, the Everest range has a wider track and longer wheelbase, and it helps with the cabin space.
Seating Capacity
The Everest Wildtrak is a 7-seater SUV and is pretty roomy as a result in the front and 2nd row of seats. The third row isn’t too shabby, either. The little bambinos aren’t left out either, as there are ISOFIX child-seat anchors. This is a lifestyle vehicle as well, but everyone can join in on the fun.
Legroom and Headroom
The imposing size of the Everest Wildtrak works well here, and we have 7 seats to play with. For the front and 2nd row seats, adult occupants can comfortably enjoy the Everest. The 3rd row seats’ headroom and legroom are on the smaller end for adults but can fit children decently enough.
Boot capacity
Depending on how you have your seating arrangements set up in the Everest, if you have the 3rd row of seats up, you’ll have 259 litres of boot space to play with. With the 3rd row folded down, you’ll have cavernous 898 litres. With both the 3rd and 2nd row of seats folded, you’ll have 1818 litres of boot space to pretty much throw in whatever you want.
Verdict
To conclude, the Ford Everest Wildtrak takes not only interior comfort and raises the bar but also on the versatility front too. Definitely suitable for the type of owner that needs a vehicle to handle family duties and recreational activities.
