Tata Harrier facelift spied testing again

While the Tata Harrier facelift has been spied testing in India on multiple occasions, the new batch of spy shots reveals its partly masked interior. The Harrier has been on sale for more than four years. It is also long due for a major mid-cycle facelift as its rivals have received updates to keep them up-to-the-minute. That said, the much-awaited Harrier facelift will bring in a fresh design inside and out, along with new tech.

Tata Harrier facelift: Interior
As seen in the spy pictures, the cabin of the Harrier facelift is partly covered in camouflage, albeit it reveals new details. To begin with, the most significant change will be in the form of a new gear selector – reminiscent of the gear selector unit used in some Jaguar and Land Rover models. In addition, it could get a fresh upholstery tone.

Further, the dashboard also appears to carry forward the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that debuted with the Red Dark edition models of the Harrier and Safari. Also, it is expected to retain the new fully digital seven-inch cluster. Apart from that, the interior design seems identical to the on-sale Harrier.

Tata Harrier facelift: Exterior
Going by the earlier spy shots, the exterior design of the Harrier facelift is likely to draw inspiration from the Harrier EV prototype showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. For reference, the upcoming refreshed Harrier could get a full-length light bar at the front and a similar light strip at the back running across its width. Additionally, it is expected to feature an updated face with LED headlights.

Tata Harrier facelift: Features
Tata recently bestowed the MY2023 Harrier with a 360deg camera, a six-way power adjustable driver seat with memory settings and welcome function, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Having said that, the Harrier facelift could offer a handful of additional features.

Other features in the on-sale Harrier include ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM, six airbags, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four-wheel disc brakes, wireless phone charging, air purifier, panoramic sunroof, and connected car features, among others.

Tata Harrier facelift: Powertrain
The Harrier facelift is likely to continue with the same 2.0-litre, inline-four cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. This motor makes 170PS and 350Nm of torque. As a matter of fact, it has been speculated that the Harrier could get a petrol engine option, that is, the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged TGDi petrol unit unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023. This engine generates 170PS and 280Nm of torque.

Tata Harrier facelift: India launch
Since the MY2023 Harrier was recently launched in India, Tata might introduce the Harrier facelift sometime during forthcoming festivals close to the end of this year. Meanwhile, with new updates, the facelifted SUV is expected to command a higher premium over the current model.
