Stellantis is recalling some 60,287 examples of its newer Jeep and Ram SUVs and trucks over two separate issues.
The first campaign covers about 55,711 Canadian-market vehicles equipped with the second-generation 3.0-litre EcoDiesel, specifically the company’s Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from model years 2014 through 2020; and Ram 1500 trucks from model years 2014 through 2019. In the U.S., it covers another 138,645 vehicles.
In affected vehicles, a high-pressure fuel pump may accumulate debris, restricting fuel flow and eventually leading to the ending stalling due to fuel starvation.
The second recall covers some 4,576 Canadian-market 2022 Ram 1500 and 2500 pickups, and 3500 Cab Chassis models; in the U.S., however, about 117,759 trucks are affected.
On some of these vehicles, software in the radio could prevent the backup camera from displaying when in reverse, instead displaying a written error message. The glitch will be remedied via a radio software update.
Stellantis said it had received no reports of any injuries or accidents tied to either defect, and that affected owners in both safety campaigns would begin being notified by July 29.
