Hot on the heels of Jeep’s all-new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, the brand is working on an even longer version of the premium SUVs. The long-wheelbase Wagoneer — the “Grandest Wagoneers” is what we’re dubbing it — was recently caught testing in Michigan.
The giant SUV is said to be in competition with the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and GMC Yukon Denali — a few other larger-than-life SUVs.
Despite its longer version, the LWB model’s design, trim, and equipment structure should be fairly similar to the shorter wheelbase, with the exception of a longer rear window.
The pictured Wagoneer LWB appears to be a Series III model, and based on the wheels and tires, it seems to have the available Advanced All-Terrain Group that features 20-inch aluminum wheels, Falken Wildpeak A/T tires, and more.

Another similarity we expect it to share with the shorter Wagoneer (although I wouldn’t necessarily call any Wagoneer “short”) is the 5.7L V8, which produces 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. The equipped eTorque hybrid system replaces the traditional engine, and works with a 48-volt battery pack for quick engine start/stop.
The Grandest Wagoneer (the Wagoneer LWB and Grand Wagoneer LWB) models are expected to join the family in late 2022. It will be built at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Warren, Michigan.
