Bermaz Auto announced the graduation of 185 students from the Bermaz Apprenticeship Program on Wednesday, 20-April 2022.
The 185 graduates are from three separate technical training programmes:
- Mazda Apprenticeship Program (MAP)
- Mazda Mechanic Program (MPP)
- Body & Paint Program (B&P)
All of the graduates are currently hired by Bermaz Auto Berhad and will be assigned to service centres for the group's three brands, Mazda, Peugeot, and Kia.
Bermaz Auto Berhad has also increased and upgraded the Technical School's technical equipment and facilities to meet today's after-sales workforce needs and to prepare them to handle Next-Generation Vehicles (NGVs), such as Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs).
The new BAuto Training School will offer Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes that will meet the needs of BAuto's three car brands (Mazda, Peugeot & Kia).
BAuto Body & Paint (BABP) and BAuto Mechanics' Program (BAMP) are two of the vocational programmes available. These vocational programmes are accredited by the Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK) and the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) UK, which is one of the Accreditation Centers for motor vehicle mechanic training.
BAuto has also launched the BAuto Mechatronics Program (BMP), a new programme aimed at teaching students about electronic and electric vehicle (EV) technology.
The state-of-the-art training school provides a variety of amenities for electric vehicle training, including a new e-learning & computer lab, advanced e-lab, EV learning centre, Learning Management System (LMS), and 22 kW AC chargers.
With its extensive facilities geared to develop the next generation of local talent while also ensuring that the local workforce can support and meet the group's service quality requirements at all its service centres. Additionally, graduates of the BAuto Training School are assured employment as skilled technicians in Bermaz's after-sales network.
“The objective of the Bermaz Automotive technical and vocational academy is to give our young school graduates the opportunity to embark on a career in the automotive industry. This academy is also a platform for continuous training and development of our skilled human resource. To upskill them to meet the demands of the next generation vehicles which focuses on green and clean technology, autonomous safety features and better connectivity. Our programs will be structured to encourage continuous learning,” said the executive chairman of Bermaz Auto Berhad, Dato Sri Ben Yeoh.
