A custom shop in Russia called Ford-Market has made a one-off speedster based on an old Ford Focus. Really. The Ford Focus 4 Speedster has a body that’s almost entirely bespoke, including smooth side panels that do away with doors. Because who needs the ungainly inconvenience of a door handle when you can just jump into the car like The Fonz in Happy Days?
The current (fourth generation) Focus isn’t available in Russia after Ford stopped selling it in a load of markets, so Ford-Market used the basis of a third-generation car and grafted on some fourth generation parts. That said, plenty of the panels are bespoke, including the twin bubble buttress behind the two seats.
The dashboard had to be reworked including moving it backwards by 50cm to make it look right after removing the windshield, and the rear bench has been removed entirely. The stock front seats are replaced by racing buckets. Plus, as you can see, it’s been slammed harder than Ultimate Warrior slammed Hulk Hogan at the end of WrestleMania VI. The engine and drivetrain are tuned too, although Ford-Market doesn't say what it's done other that to enhance the performance of the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine.
The Focus Speedster is the wackiest of a string of one-off Ford conversions by Ford-Market, the last being a cabriolet also based on the third generation Focus, below.
