The Nissan Patrol Warrior is coming soon.
The long-awaited Nissan Patrol Warrior will launch in Australia before the end of the year, with the brand detailing just what to expect from the V8-powered off-road beast that will take on everything from the LandCruiser 300 Series to the Lexus GX and LandCruiser Prado.
The big point of difference, of course, is that thumping 5.6-litre petrol V8, which still delivers 298kW of power and 560Nm of torque, but Victorian engineering outfit Premcar has worked on just about every other part of the Patrol, from the interior and the exhaust, the underbody and the suspension, and the tyre rubber and alloys.
In fact, the only thing we don’t know now is the price, but with Premcar proudly pointing out that no shortcuts were made anywhere in the design and development process, you can expect the Warrior to start some way above the $95,115 before on-road costs price of the current Patrol Ti-L.
The idea, says Nissan, is that Premcar essentially creates the ultimate Patrol, without its customers having to take on any “risk or guesswork”.
“Premcar takes the risk and the guess work out of enhancing the Patrol’s capability,” said Nissan Australia’s Senior Manager of Local Product Development/Enhancement Martin Longayroux.
“Premcar are designing, developing, testing – building – the Warrior as a complete package from the ground up, and they’re doing it for Australian conditions, and Australian consumers.

The journey starts outside, with black mirror caps, a black grille, a new red bash plate, a Warrior-branded front bumper, new fender flares and mud flaps, and new blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain rubber.
At the rear, there’s two recovery hooks, a new towbar assembly, and new Warrior badging, along with a new bi-modal exhaust with twin exits that emerge from the side of the vehicle.

Under the skin, Premcar have increased the ride height by 50mm, re-developed the front and rear springs, and re-engineered the Hydraulic Body Motion Control System.
Finally, the wood-panelled vibes of the cabin have been swapped out, with a new black and Alcantara theme.
“There’s no compromise,” said Premcar’s Engineering Director, Bernie Quinn. “It is an eight-seat rally car. I love it.”
