Renewed popularity combined with a shortage of critical parts has limited the local availability of the Nissan Patrol – but you can get one if you’re prepared to wait
Wait times for the 2022 Nissan Patrol 4WD have stretched out to four to five months amid severe supply chain challenges afflicting much of the car industry.
A spokesperson from Nissan Australia told Chasing Cars that supply of the Patrol could vary based on factors such as model specification, dealer location and the flow of cars and parts at the factory level at the given time.
“This [delay] is caused by both global production challenges due to semiconductor shortage along with very strong customer demand,” they said.

The sixth-generation Patrol has seen a surge in popularity in the last 12 months following the death of the V8-powered Land Cruiser 200 Series, which was replaced by the supply-constrained and V6-powered 300 Series in late 2021.
Sales for the Patrol grew steadily from 2820 in 2020 to 3333 in 2021, a year which coincided with its 70th birthday showing there is still an appetite for this full-size 4WD.

The 2022 Patrol is available in a choice of two grades with the entry-level Ti priced at $82,160 (before on-roads) while the top-spec Ti-L commands $95,115.
Nissan gave the Patrol a small update in 2022, adding a new grille design and other minor appearance tweaks to the full-size four-wheel drive – along with a $1000 range-wide price bump.

The Patrol is fitted as standard with leather interior trim, an 8.0-inch touchscreen and luxury features like eight-way power adjustment for the driver and six-way adjustment for the front passenger.
Stepping up to the Ti-L adds features like the 13-speaker Bose stereo, heated and cooled seats and a set of 8.0-inch screens in the rear to keep passengers happy.
All Patrol grades are powered by a 5.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol V8 engine that sends 298kW of power and 560Nm of torque to the seven-speed automatic and four-wheel-drive system.
