Having recently received a styling overhaul and interior refurbishment, the Jeep Compass is gaining yet another new trim. Hot on the heels of the special edition (RED) model, the brand is now taking orders for the 2022 Jeep Compass Altitude.
Said to be the product of customers clamouring for more factory-built custom looks, the Altitude will match Jeep’s 4×4 chops with unique gloss black exterior accents plus a few interior toys. Its 18-inch aluminum wheels have been dipped in inky paint, as have the exterior badges and other jewelry that was formerly covered in brightwork. The roof will be painted black as well. Pro tip: get a contrasting paint colour for maximum visual drama.
“The 2022 Jeep Compass ushered in new levels of comfort and functionality. Its legendary 4×4 capability remains at its core,” said Jim Morrison, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Brand North America. “We’re taking Compass to another level with the new Altitude model, which adds a distinctive look that will stand out on both the trails and on the streets.”
Inside this trim, Jeep sees fit to include some of its top-tier technology, including the 10.1-inch jumbotron of an infotainment screen generally reserved for models further up the food chain. That unit is packed with the latest Uconnect 5 software and plays well with an integrated navigation system. Also on board is a 10.25-inch reconfigurable digital cluster like its big brothers, leather-faced seats with snappy stitching work, various bits of piano black trim, and a black headliner.
This is but one of several special editions hove at Jeep products in recent years, with the little Compass finally earning a few to call its own. Earlier this year, it gained a (RED) trim, part of a Stellantis partnership with that campaign which donates funds to help fight global health emergencies. The same effort is supported by the likes of Apple with its (RED) lines of smartphones, for example. At Jeep, this particular Compass is slathered in expressive Redline Pearl-Coat paint, colour-keyed trim, and unique badging.
The 2022 Jeep Compass Altitude has a Canadian manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $38,095 and is available to be ordered right now.
