Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in September 2023.
Tata Nexon Facelift
Tata dealerships across India have started accepting bookings for the Nexon facelift. The SUV is available in four trims – Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless. Customers can place their orders by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.
The Nexon facelift will be available with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 118 BHP and 170 Nm. Customers can choose from four transmission options – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters. The SUV retains the 1.5-litre diesel engine. It will be offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT.
Hyundai i20 facelift
Hyundai has released a teaser of the upcoming i20 facelift, which suggests that the official launch is just around the corner.
The i20 facelift made its global debut in May this year. The India-spec i20 is likely to be similar to the European version. The teaser shows the car’s front grille, featuring a new mesh design. It gets more angular LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights as well as a redesigned front bumper.
Mahindra Bolero Neo+
Mahindra is likely to launch the Bolero Neo Plus by September 2023.
The Bolero Neo Plus is the replacement for the TUV300 Plus. Reports suggest that the car will be offered in seven variants and positioned below the Scorpio Classic in terms of pricing. It will be targeted at customers in Tier-2 cities.
Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV
Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch its third electric SUV in the Indian market. The EQE will go on sale on September 15, 2023.
The Mercedes EQE made its global debut in October last year. It is based on the brand’s bespoke EV platform and is taller and wider than the EQE sedan.
Globally, the Mercedes EQE SUV is offered in four variants: EQE 350+ with a rear-wheel-drive system & EQE 350 4Matic, both with 288 BHP, an EQE 500 4Matic with 536 BHP and the range-topping AMG EQE 53. All variants get the same 90 kWh battery pack with fast-charging capability and a maximum range of 550 km.
2nd-generation Lexus LM
Lexus has started accepting bookings for the second-generation LM in India.
The Lexus LM is a luxury MPV that is based on Toyota’s GA-K platform, shared with the Toyota Vellfire. The LM measures 5,130mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,945mm in height.
In India, Lexus is offering the LM 350h, which is powered by the 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain that puts out 247 BHP and 239 Nm.
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance*edition
BMW has introduced the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition in India. Pre-bookings are now open and customers can place their orders on the BMW Online Shop by paying a sum of Rs 1.50 lakh.
Powering the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 176 BHP and 280 Nm @ 1,350-4,600 rpm. It is said to enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.
Honda Elevate
Honda has announced its entry into the mid-size SUV segment with the Elevate. The SUV is available in four variants: SV, V, VX and ZX, with prices starting at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Elevate is available with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 119 BHP @ 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm @ 4,300 rpm. It is mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT.
The Honda Elevate competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Maruti Grand Vitara, among others.
Volvo C40 Recharge
Volvo has announced the launch of the C40 Recharge at an introductory price of Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
The C40 Recharge is Volvo’s second all-electric model for the Indian market. It has been positioned above the XC40 Recharge, which costs Rs 56.90 lakh.
The C40 Recharge shares its dual-motor electric powertrain with the XC40 Recharge. It generates 402 BHP and 660 Nm and uses a 78 kWh battery pack that offers a maximum range of 530 km (WLTP cycle). According to Volvo, the improved range is a result of a new battery management system and the car’s low-drag design.
