Cadillac’s all-new battery-electric family SUV could help spearhead GM luxury brand’s return to Australia
The all-new battery-electric 2024 Cadillac Escalade IQ has been previewed ahead of the full-size luxury SUV’s unveiling in New York on August 9.
Emerging as General Motors considers returning the Cadillac brand to Australia as early as this year, the Cadillac Escalade IQ clearly borrows styling cues from the new Lyriq mid-size SUV – and both EVs might now spearhead a Caddy relaunch Down Under.
To be built at GM’s recently refurbished Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center, the new-generation Escalade IQ will be produced alongside the GMC Hummer.
No other information has been revealed, but it’s thought the new Escalade will be based heavily on both the Hummer and the Chevrolet Silverado EV which is also edging closer to Australia.
That means top versions could come with as much as 746kW of power and draw energy from an enormous 212kWh battery.
Inside, a full-width infotainment panel to rival Mercedes-Benz’s Hyperscreen is anticipated.
Expect more teasers in the build-up to the August 9 reveal of the Cadillac Escalade IQ as GM’s luxury brand continues its EV rollout – and its global expansion plan.
