BMW has launched the new 2022 BMW X4 in India and the prices for the facelifted version of the BMW X4 starts from Rs 70.50 Lakh (ex-showroom, India). Earlier, BMW had opened the pre-bookings for the new 2022 X4 for Rs 50,000.
Moreover, BMW will soon commence the deliveries of the X4 SUV in India and are likely to deliver on a first-come-first-serve basis. Speaking about the new BMW X4, the model made its global debut on June 2021.
Design
In terms of design, designers at BMW has given the X4 a significant makeover compared to its previous model. Also, the update brought in new features and styling elements to the BMW X4.
At the front, the new BMW X4 gets a controversial large kidney grille with all-black mesh inserts. Also, the BMW X4 gets slimmer and sleeker-looking LED headlamps that are now 10mm narrower. In addition to these changes, the new BMW X4 also gets a new reprofiled front bumper with sportier-looking air vents.
Moving to the rear, the new facelifted version of the BMW X4 gets a pair of new LED taillights that are also slimmer units. To suit the new styling, BMW has also introduced a new reprofiled rear bumper with sharper, aggressive-looking creases and a bit more pronounced exhaust tips.
To make the new BMW X4 look more sporty and brawny, designers have added gloss black inserts on all sides as part of the exclusive Black Shadow trim. However, despite all these changes on the exterior, the overall silhouette remains largely identical to the previous one.
Interior & Features
On the inside, the new BMW X4 sports a larger 12.35-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, the use of a larger infotainment unit has forced designers to redesign the AC vents below the screen to look more proportionate.
In addition to these upgrades, the new BMW X4 also sports a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and BMW full-colour Heads-up display. To make things more interesting, designers have also added new switchgear to climate control.
Other features worth mentioning include a wireless charging pad, a large panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with six selectable lighting designs, adaptive suspension, welcome light carpet, and a lot more.
Safety
The new BMW X4 is also one of the safest SUVs in its segment with the inclusion of safety systems such as 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), electric parking brake, auto hold, side-impact protection, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electronic vehicle immobilizer, crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting points and a few more.
Powertrain
The new BMW X4 is powered by two engine options. The BMW X4 xDrive30i uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 248bhp of peak power and 350Nm of peak torque. Thanks to this powertrain, the BMW X4 can catapult itself from a standstill to 100km/h in just 6.6 seconds.
On the other hand, the BMW X4 xDrive30d comes with a 6-cylinder, 3.0-litre, turbocharged diesel engine with 261bhp of peak power and 620Nm of torque. Thanks to the additional oomph, the BMW X4 xDrive30d can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 5.8 seconds. Also, all these engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The new BMW X4 is available in two trim levels and rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
