Mitsubishi Australia has announced updates for its 2023 Eclipse Cross, including a new LS black edition debuting for the first time.
New exterior looks, safety enhancements and extra features have all been announced for the Corolla Cross and Kia Seltos rival.
Pricing has increased somewhat from 2022, with the biggest increase being $1000 for the now $40,490 Exceed 2WD and the same for the $42,990 Exceed all-wheel drive.
The new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross LS Black Edition
All Eclipse Cross variants for 2023 will continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder engine that produces 110kW/250Nm. The Eclipse Cross’s powertrain is controlled by a CVT automatic transmission, powering either the front wheels or all four wheels.
Mitsubishi has announced that a new LS black edition variant will also be available that will stand out thanks to black 18-inch alloy wheels, gloss black door mirrors, front and rear bumper skid plates and the deletion of roof rails.
The black pack continues inside the cabin with a black leather steering wheel, black headlining and dark silver garnishes for the instrument panel, centre console sides and door grips.
Inside of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross LS Black Edition
Sitting above the current LS grade, the black edition also includes heated front seats, blind-spot monitoring, electrochromatic rear-view mirror, lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert and rear-mounted USB sockets in type A and C.
First deliveries for the updated MY23 Eclipse Cross are expected from March 2023.

All Aspire Eclipse Crosses now look a little different, with black and contrasting silver highlights. Gloss black finish has been added to the front and rear bumper skid plates, while the radiator grille and lower door moulds are now finished in black.
The top-of-the-range Exceed variant now comes with an electric tailgate that features hands-free operation.
The entry ES model now adds rear parking sensors, 16-inch alloy wheels and different steering wheel trim.

How safe is the 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?
The 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has a range-wide five-star ANCAP safety rating.
As standard, the ES variant comes fitted with emergency brake assist, emergency stop signal, forward collision mitigation and hill start assist.
The LS and LS black edition adds automatic dusk sensing headlights, auto high beam, auto rain-sensing wipers, blind spot warning, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is also available as a plug-in hybrid
The Aspire variant adds adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera, while the Exceed uses a unique ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system.
