Based on the exterior images of the BMW X6 which was rapidly lapping the Nürburgring allude to a subtle front and rear update. The crossover is dressed up in a full cover of black and white camouflage but we can see some much slimmer headlights which feed into large kidney grilles. The BMW X6 spied here has been spared the pig-nose treatment that has been controversially dappling the automakers portfolio
The rest of the front bumper, in the copious camo alludes to the fact that it too has been completely redesigned while the rear receives much the same treatment with a tweaked bumper and pair of tail lights.
Nothing major is expected to change in the powertrain department with the current engine lineup possibly receiving minor software updates to aid in fuel economy or harness a few extra bits of power. The hot X6 M which has already been spotted testing will receive a twin-turbocharged 4,4-litre V8 that puts out 454 kW and can get the crossover up to 100 km/h in just under 4 seconds.
No official reveal date for the mid-cycle refresh is expected although the X6 will debut before its hot M sibling does. If the BMW X6 spied here makes its debut alongside the redesigned X5, we can expect to see it as soon as the end of the year. Otherwise the covers will come off the crossover sometime early next year.
