HIROSHIMA: With crossovers the in-thing these days, Mazda is making wishes come true with another crossover which is set to debut at the Beijing Motor Show from April 29 through May 4.
It is set to reveal the CX-4, whose size and proportions were first communicated by the Koeru concept seen at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, it looks like the CX-4 is targeted at the China market – at least for now.
Mazda said today that the CX-4 would feature the full range of SKYACTIV Technology and KODO-Soul of Motion design. The announcement, accompanied by a teaser image, said the CX-4 would promise to be “a new type of crossover SUV designed to help customers live more creative lives.”
If the plan stays largely on track with the Koeru , the CX-4 could have a distinctive headlamp design, a coupe roofline and big wheels to create presence plus a premium level of refinements inside and out.
Mazda’s stand at the Beijing show will showcase 12 vehicles, including new-generation models such as the Mazda3, Mazda CX-5, Mazda6, and race cars prepared for the Mazda-sponsored MZ Ruisi Racing Team competing in the China Touring Car Championship.
Other vehicles and technologies that represent the brand would also do the rounds.
