Indian EV maker, Matter Energy will commence the bookings for the Matter Aera electric motorcycle from May 17 onwards in 25 Indian cities. Interested buyers can book the Matter Aera electric motorcycle through the official website or Flipkart.
Speaking about the Matter Aera, the electric motorcycle is the country’s first geared electric bike and it is priced at Rs 1.44 lakh, ex-showroom for the ‘5000’ variant. However, the higher-spec ‘5000+’ variant is priced at Rs 1.54 lakh, ex-showroom.
It is also worth mentioning that the prices mentioned for both variants of the Matter Aera electric motorcycle includes the FAME II subsidy. However, these revealed prices does not include the state subsidies.
Speaking about the Matter Aera electric motorcycle, one of the stand-out features of the electric motorcycle is its 4-speed gearbox, which is very unique for electric two-wheelers as they rarely require a gearbox to transfer torque effectively to the driven wheels.
In terms of powertrain, both the Matter Aera 5000 and 5000+ electric motorcycles come equipped with a 5kWh battery pack with liquid-cooling technology along with a 10kW (13.4bhp) electric motor and a 4-speed gearbox. It is also worth mentioning that both motorcycles sport an IP67 rating.
Thanks to this powertrain setup, Matter Energy claims that both the Matter Aera 5000 and 5000+ electric motorcycles can travel up to 125 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack. It is also worth mentioning that both these electric motorcycles come with 4 ride modes including a reversing mode.
Some of the noteworthy features of the Matter Aera 5000 and 5000+ motorcycles include a large 7-inch touchscreen LCD display, 9-Axis IMU, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, single-channel ABS, front and rear disc brakes, all-LED lighting, and much more.
In terms of warranty, the new Matter Aera electric motorcycles come with a 3 Year/Unlimited kilometre warranty. This warranty is applicable for both the motorcycle and the battery pack.

With the launch of the Matter Aera electric motorcycle, Matter is looking forward to gaining some traction in the Indian electric two-wheeler market. Moreover, sporting a 4-speed gearbox does make the Matter Aera stand out and we expect people to take notice of this EV maker.
