In this video review, Sean Nurse samples the latest Maserati Levante variant, the GT Hybrid. After an extensive drive throughout central Gauteng, he reaches a conclusion not only about the Levante in particular but also about the direction in which the automotive industry is headed.
As the SUV and crossover markets keep expanding, many automakers more commonly associated with performance cars are including these configurations in their product line-ups. One of those is Maserati which introduced the Levante model in 2016. Subsequently, the Levante has become a popular model for the Italian marque and, as a result, Maserati has been further developing powertrains that meet the needs of its customers.
One such powertrain is the mild-hybrid configuration that can be found in the latest addition to the Levante line-up. Sean Nurse grabs the keys to this new derivative and samples it on the roads of Gauteng to find out if it still retains the special feeling one gets behind the steering wheel of a Maserati.
Ryno FourieRyno started his career capturing press images of the latest and greatest vehicles which have subsequently adorned the covers and pages of prominent motoring titles locally and internationally. After a short stint as a photography lecturer, he once again joined the automotive industry as a sub-editor and photographer for a local publication, however, currently, you will find him spending most of his time in the studio creating written, video, and photography content as part of the AutoTrader content team.View News & Reviews
