It seems like a company is rolling out a new battery-electric machine every day. The latest? Lincoln. Ford’s luxury division teases its upcoming battery-electric concept vehicle ahead of its April 20, 2022 reveal. Details are still murky, but it’s expected to be a battery-electric crossover, which would follow the company’s current crossover and SUV exclusive lineup.
If this concept goes into production it will be the first battery-electric vehicle to enter the Lincoln portfolio, but it isn’t the only EV in its parent company’s roster. The upcoming Lincoln EV will likely use a lot of the technology and development from Ford’s ever-expanding electric offerings. While it’s doubtful that Lincoln will roll out a variant of Ford’s F-150 Lightning, Lincoln will likely borrow some pieces from the Ford Mustang Mach-E.

Still, what we can see from this teaser is that this to-be-named Lincoln EV concept will feature interesting exterior lightning accents. The teaser shows illuminated Lincoln badges on the fender, fender cladding, and accents on body panels. Of course, this could just be for the teaser, but extravagant signature lightning seems to be a growing trend among luxury car makers.
We’re sure at least some of our questions will be answered when Lincoln pulls the sheets away from this battery-electric machine on April 20. The company didn’t mention that this upcoming electric vehicle would make an appearance at the New York auto show, and it wouldn’t be the first time Ford has surprised an auto show audience with an unexpected reveal.
