And now the lifestyle pickup is here, comparisons with its SUV counterpart, the Toyota Fortuner, are bound to happen. Toyota Hilux and Fortuner exterior
Both Fortuner and Hilux fall in a similar price range
Both the Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux are based on the same platform and share their mechanicals. When it comes to visual appearance, these utility vehicles have their own identities. At the front, the Hilux looks more macho with its larger grille with chrome surrounds, larger headlamps with LED projectors, daytime running LEDs, and daytime running LEDs.
On the other hand, the Toyota Fortuner looks sleeker in comparison having slimmer headlamps that come with LED projectors and a smaller-in-size grille flanked with chrome garnish bits. The LED turn indicators, which have the dual functionality of daytime running LEDs, are positioned on the lower corners of the front bumper. Both the UVs come with LED fog lamps – while the fog lamp housings in Fortuner are block-shaped, the same for the Hilux are slimmer looking L-shaped housings.
