No matter how much fame one attains in their life, they can never be above the law. This statement was recently proven correct when the popular Tollywood actress Dimple Hayathi was summoned by Jubilee Hills police. A case was registered against her for hitting a parked vehicle that belonged to an IPS officer. It was reported that the actress and her friend had hit this particular vehicle a few times before as well. The actress was seen leaving the Jubilee Hills police station with her friend in her BMW 5 Series sedan.
A video of the damaged Toyota Fortuner of the IPS officer has been shared. In the video, it can be noted that the rear bull bar of the car was damaged by the impact of the actress ramming into it. Furthermore, another video showing the actress leaving the Jubilee Hills police station with her friend David has also surfaced on the internet.
According to media reports, Rahul Hegde, the IPS officer who lives in the same apartment as Dimple Hayathi, stated that his driver reported his white Toyota Fortuner, which was parked in the building, was hit from behind. Upon further investigation through CCTV footage, it was found that the actress and her friend were in the car at the time of the incident. Following this, the driver of the IPS officer filed a formal police complaint, and the actress was booked at the Jubilee Hills police station.
It has also been reported that this is not the first time the actress has done something like this. Chetan Kumar, the driver of the IPS officer, stated that the actress repeatedly kicked the officer’s car, and when confronted about this latest incident of ramming her car into the back of the officer’s SUV, she became aggressive. The driver then filed a complaint against her at the Jubilee Hills Police Station. Police have registered a case under Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of duty), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 279 (rash driving) of the Indian Penal Code.
Commenting on the situation, Rahul Hegde, IPS officer (Traffic), stated, “In the past too, they used to create trouble by blocking my car. Due to my job responsibilities, I generally have to act quickly in leaving the place by taking the car to attend my work. But they used to create hurdles to block the car.” Meanwhile, in retaliation, the actress, via her official Twitter account, tweeted, “Misuse of power doesn’t hide mistakes. #satyamevajayathe.”
