Here’s A Sneak Peek at the New Mazda3 2019

The new Mazda3 2019 will be unveiled to the public on 28 November 2018 at the LA Auto Show. The Mazda3 has always been a popular car in Singapore.

It has been confirmed that the new Mazda3’s 8.8-inch display is touchscreen-enabled. The Mazda3 uses a similar dial controller to manage the setup, but now it comes paired to a newer version of Mazda’s infotainment tech. Mazda has also removed quite a few buttons as compared to the previous Mazda3, reinforcing their ‘less is more’ theme.

The Mazda3 also gains new safety features like a Cruising and Traffic Support system that adds a traffic jam assist with the ability to automatically control the accelerator, brake, and steering. A front cross traffic alert has also been added, helping prevent collisions at blind intersections.

Mazda Singapore has replied our question with regards to the release of the Mazda3 in Singapore. It said that, “we are unable to advise on your enquiry at the moment. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for further updates!”

However, we are able to make an educated guess that the Mazda3 should be shown off to the Singaporean public at the Singapore Motorshow 2019, which is less than two months from now.

More information about the upcoming AWD system. Mazda’s evolved i-Activ AWD adds new “four-wheel vertical load” detection and works together with the car’s G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus) to control torque distribution between the front and rear wheels.

As a result, it has an easy job responding to the driver’s intentions, regardless of the driving conditions. It also reduces overall mechanical loss by approximately 60% over the previous model and contributes to better fuel efficiency.

Mazda’s GVC Plus adds direct yaw moment control via the brakes. This allows the car to better handle emergency manoeuvres and offers better controllability in various situations, including lane changes at high speeds and driving on slippery roads.

We have obtained the press release for the new Mazda3. Above is the specification sheet for the (North American) Mazda3s. As mentioned earlier, the Mazda3 would be available in three petrol engines of varying sizes, along with a diesel version. However, a SKYACTIV-X engine has also been announced, which is a hybrid engine. It is still unclear if all five engines would be available in Singapore.

As mentioned earlier, the new Mazda3 will have an 8.8-inch wide center display. It will offer a simplified operation that requires only the use of the commander control. It will also feature a new intuitive guidance system that makes the commander control much easier to operate.

For the audio system, a 12 BOSE speaker system would be available. It will have a custom tuning system to provide more powerful bass and higher audio quality.

A leaked photo of the Mazda3 hatchback shows an ‘AWD’ (All-Wheel Drive) badge at the back. This means that the new Mazda3 would be available in All-Wheel Drive. More details will follow.

The unveiling event has concluded to much fanfare. The picture above shows the end of the unveiling with the red Mazda3 hatchback on the left and the grey sedan on the right. Standing in front of the red hatchbacks are three Mazda executives who spoke at the event.

After watching the event, we felt that Mazda focused too much on the design aspect and the inspiration behind the Mazda3 without going into much detail about the specifications of the cars.

Perhaps they are saving it for the press conference tomorrow, but it does come off as a little fishy to not go into detail and boast about what’s underneath the cars. So, we will have to wait for the official specification sheet to give you the numbers.

But on the overall, we do think the new Mazda3 2019 will definitely be a popular buy around the world (including in Singapore) for obvious reasons. Stay tuned to this article as more official information will continue to flow in for the rest of today and over the next day or two.

Speaking on the issue of the interior, the new Mazda3 cars will have an 8.8-inch infotainment screen. It also will have hand-stitched leather. However, it is unclear where it will be integrated, but only photos shown on the screen of a leather steering wheel.

They may share the same name, both the sedan and hatchback has different proportions and characters. The sedan is made to be beautiful, while the hatchback is meant to look sporty, appealing to two different groups of people.

The hatchback has two twin circular lights at the back, and Mazda claims their Mazda3 hatchback stands out greatly. Mazda has created a new shade of grey exclusive to the hatchback called ‘Polymetal Grey’. Under the sun, it will have a strong, metallic look.

Elegance translated into the physical force, the Mazda3 has a design that is not only alluring, but will reveal “lights and shadows” that will capture the eye of people, making the car stand out.

The Mazda3s have now been officially unveiled, the sedan in grey, and the hatchback in red.

First Look: The hatchback has a sunroof, and on both models, the lights are sleeker than the previous generation.

The key was to find a new way to express ‘life’. Inspired by the 4 seasons in Japan, they tried to control the light and shadow of the [car] body. ‘A new vision of elegance’, so they (Mazda) say.

The design of the Mazda3 was inspired by “Kodo”, the Japanese concept of the spirit of motion. Seeing the car as art, that is what Mazda considered when designing the all-new Mazda3 2019.

Carbuzz is reporting that the new Mazda3 is coming with 3 petrol engines, a 1.5, two and 2.5 litre version, and a 1.8 litre diesel engine.

Power will sent to all four wheels with Mazda’s improved i-Activ AWD system that works with G-Vectoring Control Plus to control the torque distribution, resulting in sharper handling and improved fuel economy.

Like the previous model, buyers can choose from a six-speed automatic or manual transmission. The gear shift lever has also been moved forward and placed higher for easier access.

The photo above is believed to be the new fourth-generation Mazda3 2019, for both sedan and hatchback. It was first uploaded on autoblog, Jalopnik.

By the looks of it, the new Mazda3 sedan closely resembles the previous Mazda6, with a sleeker backend with taillights to match.

There is a fair bit of unconfirmed leaks online about the Mazda3 2019, but we will talk about the most common speculations and rumours found on car website, Carscoops.

The new Mazda3 2019 will have a new SkyActiv-Vehicle Architecture which apparently is stronger and will provide a better ride quality. Mazda says the new platform “enables people to make the most of their natural sense of balance,” suggesting that intuitive handling characteristics will come into play.

The new model will also have the latest SkyActiv engines. Mazda was rather tight-lipped about the details of it, but it did say that the new engines would “offer responsive control of vehicle speed in any driving situation.”
