Fully-Loaded C8 Corvette Z06 Is Going To Break the Bank
Those who tick a few options boxes are going to be shocked.
Pricey Machine
It goes without saying that the C8 Corvette Z06 is easily one of the most highly anticipated new vehicle releases in recent memory. Even before we learned that the latest Z will be packing the most powerful naturally aspirated production V8 in history, folks were eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new track-focused Corvette. But now that it’s here and being delivered to customers, there’s one minor issue that has quite a few folks wondering – why the heck is it so expensive?

Options and Features
When the 2023 Corvette Z06 configurator went live recently, it enabled us to see just how much its various options packages and features cost, and as expected, it’s pretty easy to drive the already-lofty price of the new sports car into unprecedented territory, at least as it pertains to the Corvette.

Going Up
For starters, the base 1LZ coupe starts out at $106,695 sans destination charges, with the convertible sporting a $114,195 price tag. From there, it’s pretty easy to tack on a few grand more by opting for the 2LZ ($115,895) or 3LZ ($120,545) trim levels, while special paint colors are available for an additional fee of $500 for Accelerate Yellow and Rapid Blue, or $995 for Amplify Orange and Red Mist Metallic.

Bits and Pieces
Then there are wheel options galore, with prices ranging from a reasonable $495 to $11,995 for the vaunted exposed carbon fiber pieces. One can also opt to spend another $695 for painted brake calipers, $260 for some fancy wheel center caps, another $100 or so for wheel locks, $500 for Competition seats, $495 for color seat belts, and $695 for a carbon fiber and suede steering wheel.

Packages
Next, we come to packages, and in that regard, buyers can choose to add everything from a roadside safety package for $175 to contour floor liners for $335, a Jake C8.R graphics package for $995, the 70th Anniversary Package for $5,996, and the mighty Z07 Performance Package, which costs $8,995.

Various Other Goodies
As the infomercials like to say – but wait, there’s more! Another bevy of features and options await, and it’s a long list that includes a rear fascia protector for $135, Carbon Flash-painted mirrors and a rear spoiler for $195, color Corvette script in the rear for $395 and a whole host of bits including carbon fiber exterior aero and even a carbon fiber roof panel.

Playing Conservative
For those that are brave enough to do so, ticking every possible box on a loaded Corvette Z06 convertible 3LZ just barely crests the $181k mark, which is a truly astounding figure by any means. But then again, one can also play conservatively and still get all of that flat-plane crank, track-focused goodness for a lot less, and truthfully, that’s what we would do, even though that Z06 package sure does seem appealing.
