One San Diego resident is not doing well after finding out Spring training was postponed. A man decided to take out his frustrations on Petco Park stadium, where he drove onto the field in a Ford Bronco. The San Diego man drove through the tunnel of the stadium and onto the baseball field in his Ford Bronco. From there, he began doing donuts in the outfield, which alerted just about everyone in the area. Staff who work at the stadium took a forklift and parked it where the Bronco driver entered, blocking his exit. Thanks to their quick thinking, the police arrived and easily arrested the man who had no way out.
According to The Drive, an eyewitness who works in the offices above the park saw it all unfold. Ryan Carlson was confused at first, he told the San Diego Union-Tribune, thinking the driver had permission to be there. A Bronco doing donuts on the field is so outlandish that people assumed it’s supposed to be happening. However, after only about a minute, according to Carlson, grounds crew workers made their way over to the SUV.
Thankfully, the man got out peacefully as the grounds crew made what Carlson called a “citizens’ arrest” on the field. Subsequently, they walked him away from the vehicle and sat him down to await police arrival.
