Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and Co. as 6×6 models With three axes, honest men become eye-catchers
The selection of real 6×6 models is small, but it’s growing all the time. The latest example is provided by a Dutch car dealer based on the Mercedes X-Class. We have put together six wheel auto designs for you.
It all started when Mercedes-AMG conjured up a pickup with three axles from the G 63. The year was 2013 when the Daimler Power offshoot AMG gave its G-Model six instead of four wheels and raised 451,010 euros including VAT. In return, customers got an extroverted extreme off-roader with 544 hp 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 and all kinds of luxury equipment.
It goes without saying that such a vehicle will not be left alone for long and that the imagination of the tuners and designers will begin to blossom. Mansory, Brabus or Dartz – to name just a few – made use of the 6×6-G model and put performance and optical bells and whistles on it. But why does the venerable G-Class always have to be used as a 6×6 derivative? The Mercedes X-Class pick-up, which quickly disappeared again, can also be displayed wonderfully with a 6×6 drive, as a car dealer from the Netherlands proves.
Many three-axle vehicles based on Jeeps
Pick-ups with three axles? Americans have been able to do that for a long time, of course. The Jeep Gladiator, on the basis of which several 6×6 conversions have already been implemented, is obviously particularly popular with US off-road connoisseurs. But here, of course, even more flatbed or off-road vehicles offer an opportunity to maximize the number of wheels. The Ram 1500, for example. The new Ford Bronco is not spared from such interventions in technology and optics.
South Florida jeeps
A particularly brutal representative of the three-axle faction is the Jeep Gladiator SF6x6 from SoFlo Jeeps.
