Gasgoo Munich- On September 17, XPENG put the five-seat G9L SUV onto the market in six variants. Regular prices range from RMB 241,800 to RMB 319,800, while limited-time prices run from RMB 231,800 to RMB 309,800. Buyers can choose a battery-electric or range-extended powertrain; 800V ultra-fast charging is standard across the lineup.Image source: XPENG Key Takeaways·The battery-electric G9L offers three stated CLTC range figures: 660 km, 702 km and 755 km. ·The REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) version uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender and has a stated combined range of 1,602 km. ·The cabin places particular emphasis on rear passengers, with individual zero-gravity seats and a one-touch function that converts the seating area into a bed space. Why It MattersThe two powertrains give G9L buyers a choice between an all-electric SUV and a version with a longer stated combined range. Both retain the same 800V charging architecture. XPENG has also made rear-seat comfort a prominent part of the model, pairing individual zero-gravity seats with an entertainment screen and a powered center console.Product DetailsThe G9L adopts XPENG's latest family styling, with a closed-off front fascia and two uninterrupted full-width LED light strips. According to XPENG, the lighting elements across the front and rear measure more than 6.4 meters in total and contain 480 individual LEDs. An active grille adjusts to driving conditions. Digital projection headlights, shared with the GX, can display pedestrian-yielding and lane-change prompts, following-distance warnings and welcome graphics; the DLP system also supports a 98-inch exterior projection. All four doors offer powered opening, closing and soft-close operation. The vehicle can be equipped with 22-inch staggered-width tires and has a sloping rear roofline with an integrated spoiler. Exterior voice commands can operate the doors, hood and tailgate, direct parking maneuvers from outside the vehicle and control exterior music playback.Image source: XPENG Four interior color schemes are available: Sahara Orange, Bordeaux Red, Dawn White and Meteorite Black. Displays include a floating central screen, an integrated instrument panel, an 88-inch augmented-reality head-up display and a 9-inch digital rear-view mirror. XPENG says the front seats use pressure sensors and adjustable air bladders to adapt to occupants' body shapes. They also offer heating, ventilation, massage, 24-way power adjustment and a zero-gravity mode. Two retractable 50W wireless chargers sit between the front seats. The second-row entertainment screen measures 21.4 inches and can be adjusted through 75 degrees. A voice-operated console contains a wireless charging pad, control screen, folding table and 12.5-liter refrigerator, which XPENG says operates from minus 6°C to 50°C. The table rotates through 360 degrees and extends in two stages. The rear seats can be converted into a bed space without removing their headrests.Image source: XPENG A 33-speaker audio system includes eight headrest speakers and supports 7.1.6.8-channel surround sound. Powered sunshades cover the panoramic roof and side windows. XPENG lists 5.1 square meters of usable cabin area, 1,152 liters of luggage space and another 230 liters of underfloor storage. The G9L introduces an updated version of XPENG's second-generation VLA driver-assistance system; the Max variant debuts a distilled version. Depending on configuration, it uses up to three Turing AI chips with a stated effective computing capacity of 2,250 TOPS. XPENG says the system can respond to blocked roads, puddles and pedestrians emerging unexpectedly. A new nose-in parking function is intended to improve access to the trunk. For noise reduction, XPENG specifies acoustic materials in 122 locations, 11 pieces of double-layer laminated glass, Michelin low-noise tires and ENC and RNC active noise-reduction systems. The chassis combines front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension with adaptive dampers and dual-chamber air suspension. Rear-wheel steer-by-wire allows up to 15 degrees of movement in either direction.Data and EvidenceThe G9L measures 5,120 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,782 mm tall, with a 3,100-mm wheelbase. Buyers can choose 20-, 21- or 22-inch wheels and five exterior colors.Image source: XPENG Both powertrains come in two- and four-wheel-drive forms. XPENG says the standard 800V, 5C charging system can add 450 km of range in nine minutes. Battery-electric variants use either lithium iron phosphate or ternary lithium batteries and carry stated CLTC ranges of 660 km, 702 km or 755 km. The two-wheel-drive version has a 270-kW motor; the four-wheel-drive version produces a combined 430 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 4.45 seconds. Charging from 10% to 80% takes as little as 11 minutes, according to the company. The range-extended version pairs its 110-kW, 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender with a 210-kW motor in two-wheel-drive form or a 370-kW dual-motor system in four-wheel-drive form. XPENG quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 4.95 seconds for the latter. With a 63.3-kWh battery and 60-liter fuel tank, the model has stated CLTC ranges of 435 km on electricity alone and 1,602 km combined. Its quoted minimum charging time from 10% to 80% is also 11 minutes. What to Watch NextThe G9L is scheduled for launch at the Paris Motor Show 2026 on October 12. XPENG also plans to begin manufacturing the model at plants in Guangzhou, China, and Graz, Austria.
