It is a 4.8-meter five-seater with BEV and EREV powertrain variants. It will enter the market as the third model under the brand’s Mona mass-market line, following the M03 sedan and the L03 crossover. The Xpeng Mona L05 was previously exposed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is a mid-size model with dimensions of 4870/1930/1636 mm and a wheelbase of 2,940 mm. The L05 spotted in the wild wears a light body shade and boasts rear privacy glass. It also has yellow brake calipers and blind spot monitoring cameras in the front fenders. The interior of the Xpeng Mona L05 is highly minimalistic. There is a large screen in the dashboard. The gear shifter sits behind a two-spoke oval-shaped steering wheel. Credit: Autohome According to previously exposed information, the all-electric Xpeng Mona L05 adopts a 183 kW (245 hp) electric motor on the rear axle. It is powered by a 71.1 kWh LFP battery, suitable for 615 – 660 km under CLTC conditions, depending on the equipment. The EREV modification utilizes the same e-motor complemented by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine for 70 kW (94 hp). Its LFP battery offers a capacity of 37.2 kWh. The electric range lies between 237 and 253 km (CLTC). Xpeng is actively pushing its overseas development with a focus on the Mona series. The automaker recently held the global launch of the Mona L03 SUV, introducing it to China and the rest of the world at the same time. The Xpeng L03 costs 123,800 – 156,800 yuan (18,405 – 23,310 USD) in China. It is highly likely that the L05 will soon also reach global markets.
