MANILA, Philippines — XPENG formally launched in the Philippines on September 25 with six variants of its L03 and X9, expanding its initial two-model offering to three battery-electric L03s, a range-extended version and two versions of the X9 electric MPV. The launch at the SM Mall of Asia Arena brought XPENG Vice President James Wu and Vincent Yambao, chief operating officer of XPENG Philippines, on stage. Actress and television host Anne Curtis was introduced as the brand’s Philippine ambassador. About 3,000 guests attended the event, including dealers, banking partners, automotive executives, media and members of the public. The L03 starts at ₱1.548 million (~$24,700) for the EV Standard Range and reaches ₱2.058 million (~$32,900) for the EV RWD Long Range Ultra. The Standard Range uses a 58.3-kWh battery and has a claimed WLTP range of up to 445 kilometers. The L03 EV Long Range, priced at ₱1.698 million (~$27,100), uses a 71.1-kWh battery and is rated for up to 520 kilometers. The L03 REEV sits between them at ₱1.598 million (~$25,500). Its 37.2-kWh battery provides up to 215 kilometers of electric driving. A gasoline engine serves as a generator rather than driving the wheels, giving the vehicle a combined WLTP range of up to 1,017 kilometers. At ₱2.058 million (~$32,900), the L03 EV RWD Long Range Ultra uses the 71.1-kWh battery and adds more advanced driver-assistance and cabin equipment. Its claimed range is up to 480 kilometers. The 400-volt, 3C charging system can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes with compatible DC charging equipment. The Ultra also carries three XPENG AI Turing chips with a combined claimed computing capacity of 2,250 tera operations per second. Two handle intelligent-driving functions while the third manages the smart cabin. The L03 runs XPENG’s XOS 6.0 operating system and has a 15.6-inch 2.5K central display, a 26.8-inch head-up display and vehicle-to-load capability. The X9 is the larger model, a seven-seat electric MPV priced at ₱3.858 million (~$61,700) in Long Range form and ₱4.058 million (~$64,800) with the Second Row Premium Seat Package. Both versions use a 110-kWh NCM battery and a 235-kW front electric motor producing 450 Nm of torque. XPENG gives the X9 a WLTP range of up to 615 kilometers. Its 800-volt silicon-carbide platform supports up to 542 kW of DC charging. XPENG says the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 12 minutes under optimal conditions with suitable charging equipment. The X9 is more than 5.3 meters long but uses rear-wheel steering to reduce its turning radius to 5.4 meters. It also has dual-chamber air suspension and a powered third row that folds beneath the floor. The premium package adds two Grand Zero-Gravity second-row seats with 18-way adjustment, powered leg supports and four-way headrests, along with heating, ventilation, memory and 16-point massage. Other equipment includes five-zone climate control, a refrigerator, a 21.4-inch rear entertainment display and a 27-speaker XOPERA sound system. XPENG is offering different after-sales packages for the two models. X9 buyers receive five years of preventive maintenance and roadside assistance, a five-year vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery and electric-motor warranty, along with a 7-kW wall charger. L03 buyers receive two years of preventive maintenance, five years of roadside assistance, a five-year vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery and electric-motor warranty. The battery-electric versions include a 7-kW wall charger, while the REEV comes with a 3.5-kW portable charger. XPENG had initially announced only the range-topping L03 and X9 ahead of the launch. Reservations were set at ₱10,000 (~$160) for the L03 and ₱25,000 (~$400) for the X9. Early buyers were offered ₱10,000 (~$160) in charging credits and an XPENG First Circle Gift Set upon delivery. Before the launch, country director Katoon Su told Top Gear Philippines that the two models had generated strong interest and that prospective buyers wanted official pricing before making reservations. The company said it plans to add two more models within six months and expand its network to eight showrooms across Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao by the end of the year. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter. The launch also introduced XPENG’s wider technology program. The company displayed its IRON humanoid robot and X2 electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft alongside the vehicles. The move into robotics and aerial mobility builds on the same AI and computing work used in XPENG’s vehicles. The L03, for example, uses dedicated processors for intelligent-driving and cabin functions. XPENG also brought in the X2 Flying car.
