BMW iX3 M60 Delivers Over 600 Electric HorsepowerBMWThe BMW iX3 that's already on sale today stands out with a 434-mile EPA range estimate, but that will soon not be the only impressive performance figure in the compact electric crossover lineup. Early next year, the company is releasing an iX3 M60 variant with a staggering 603 horsepower. That number, combined with 645 pound-feet of torque, helps the compact crossover sprint to 62 miles per hour from a standstill in 3.9 seconds. That, plus a longer gear ratio, help bring the top speed up to an electronically-limited 149 mph.Adaptive damping, called Adaptive M suspension in this setting, is standard on the iX3 M60. This is paired with an electronically-controlled rear differential, a steering system with a variable rack ratio, new front-axle anti-roll bar links, and model-specific spring and damper tuning to provide the iX3 M60 with a unique feel in line with expectations for a BMW bearing the M badge.BMWWhile the electric crossover's performance is certainly shocking, this is not an iX3 M just yet. This is the medium-hot model, in line with internal combustion cars bearing partial M badging like the outgoing M340i. It still features some major M design elements that are expected to carry over to the company's eventual performance EVs, including bars in the light signature that emulate the M logo and optional yellow running lights that resemble the brand's GT3 race cars.wolfgang groeger meierBMW has yet to actually reveal a full-throated electric M car, but it has been teasing one for years now. The company last showed off its plans for such a product with a concept called the M Concept Neue Klasse, a model that looked suspiciously like a near-production version of what would be the first-ever electric M3.While nobody at BMW has confirmed what exactly will sit under a production M EV, a previous M concept was shown off with a quad-motor setup that would double the number of motors seen in this iX3 M60. Given how powerful this iX3 is, that final product could plausibly come close to the 1300 hp a BMW executive teased back in 2024.If You Can Only Own One Car, Make It One of TheseThese Are the Most Popular Cars by State
