From family car to muscle car, the Chevrolet Chevelle marked a 14-year run of success for General Motors. Introduced in 1964, the mid-sized Chevelle was designed to take on the Ford Fairlane. Through three generations and retired following the 1977 model year, the Chevelle had a hugely successful run, spawning not only the re-birth of the El Camino but also the widely popular Malibu, which started as a trim for the Chevelle.
