Charge+, described as one of Southeast Asia’s largest EV charging firms, has launched ‘Kuala Lumpur’s fastest charging station’ at KL Eco City together with the joint management body (JMB) of KL Eco City, SP Setia (master developer of KL Eco City) and EV maker Xpeng. The ‘hypercharging hub’ features five charging bays delivering up to 350 kW DC. It’s located within KL Eco City Mall, which is the mall component of KL Eco City, a mixed development comprising retail, residential and office buildings spanning 25 acres just next to MidValley. This facility is part of the Charge+ Xpeng Supercharging Network, which will host at least 20 ultra-fast sites across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, as announced last month. It’s also a vital node in Charge+’s 5,000 km EV charging highway from Singapore to Hanoi, the longest in Southeast Asia. “As the largest EV charging operator in Southeast Asia, Charge+ is steadfast on our mission to catalyse electric mobility in the region through our trailblazing 5,000 km EV charging highway that connects Singapore to Vietnam. The KL Eco City hypercharging hub represents a vital node for Charge+ in this ambition and will enable seamless long-distance and cross-border EV travel across the region,” said Charge+ chairman Ong Tze Boon. It’s open to all car brands, but Xpeng owners are promised exclusive discounts at this charging location, which according to the Charge+ app, also has 250 kW and 200 kW DC chargers. Xpeng’s EVs can certainly suck juice at a high rate – 451 kW for the G6 facelift that was launched earlier this month, and up to 317 kW for the X9 MPV. No point coming here for the ‘hypercharging’ if your EV doesn’t support the rate, by the way. Compare prices between different insurer providers to save the most on your car insurance renewal compared to other competing services. Many payment method supported and you can pay with instalment using Grab PayLater or Shopee SPayLater.
