A traditional feature of Ducati twins, cambelts use drive from the crank to turn the camshafts, which in turn activate the Desmodromic valves. With such a critical job to do, they need regular servicing; depending on the model, it’s roughly every two years on older bikes and five on newer ones – but check with the service manual for your bike.
