Demand for new 400cc Triumphs exceeded expectations
Back in August, we were all delighted to hear the news that Triumph Motorcycles Philippines will be bringing in its first lineup of 400cc motorcycles: the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X.
Then two months later, Triumph Motorcycles Philippines began accepting orders for the first batch of Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X that will arrive in the country sometime in Q1 next year. The SRP: PHP 339,000 for the Scrambler 400 X, and PHP 299,000 for the Speed 400.
It seems that we’re not the only country in the world that is eager for the arrival of the new 400s from Triumph.
Just recently, Bajaj CEO Rajiv Bajaj admitted to an interview that both the 400 models have already exceeded their expectations in terms of demand. Bajaj is the technical partner of Triumph Motorcycles for the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X models.
According to Bajaj, initially, the company only plans to roll out 5,000 Speed 400/Scrambler 400 X motorcycles monthly from their massive factory in Pune. The pre-order demand in the first month of production has now reportedly exceeded 10,000 units.
The Bajaj CEO added that he believes the company can push production to 6,000 units per month, which can then be pushed further in the near future to 10,000 units per month if the demand for these new models continues to rise.
As local (India) and international demand for the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X continue to grow, the Philippine arrival of these models might be delayed a bit more than what was scheduled.
