Corvette Sedan, Wagon Renderings Imagine a Family Sports Car
Artist illustrates visions of an alternate universe where various generations of the Corvette are given 4-door versions. With the Mustang now an EV SUV, a 4-door Corvette might not be too far from becoming a reality.
Family Friendly Sports Car
While various four-door and wagon versions of the Corvette have been created by aftermarket companies over the years, GM has yet to build a family-friendly version of its iconic sports car. Most would say that this is a good thing, of course, but there are some folks out there that wish such a Corvette existed. For them, an artist named Jim that goes by the Instagram handle jlord8 has conjured up some interesting renderings depicting such a car, starting with this C5 Z06 sedan.

Simple Formula
These renderings all share one thing in common – they retain much of the original car’s overall styling, yet add a pair of doors or a large rear cargo area for utility purposes. In the case of the C5 Z06, the look somewhat works as a sedan, though we imagine that plenty of folks won’t like it.

Hot Wagon
Next up, we have the C5 Z06 wagon, which imagines a track-ready family hauler with massive amounts of cargo space. Personally, we like this idea better than the sedan, but perhaps that’s because we’re just fans of performance-oriented wagons in general.

Sleeper?
Those types of wagons are generally considered sleepers, but that obviously isn’t the case here. It’s virtually impossible to make any Corvette look slow, though some throughout history (ahem, C4 TPI cars) actually have been.

More Muscle
Jim took a bit of a break from his family-friendly Corvette renderings to also create this C4 that never was – a 454 SS, inspired by the beloved full-size performance pickup of the same name. Personally, this is our favorite of the bunch, but then again, we’re suckers for big-inch engines and blacked-out exteriors.

End of an Era
Of course, you could spec something similar back in this time, at least in terms of a blacked-out appearance. Performance is another issue altogether, as GM stopped putting its 454 V8 in Corvettes following the conclusion of the C3 era.

Mid-Engine Wagon?
Finally, we have a more modern family hauler – a C8 Corvette wagon – which presents a bit of a problem since, well, the new Corvette is a mid-engine car. We’re not exactly sure how something like this would work without a massive hump in the interior to hide the engine, but then again, this is purely an exercise in “what if?”

Fun Exercise
Obviously, GM isn’t likely ever going to build and sell a Corvette sedan or wagon, but crazier things have happened, we suppose. Regardless, it’s fun to see what such a car might look like, even if it confirms one’s suspicions that it would be a total design abomination.
