Chevy Dealer Gives Joyride Victim Brand New Corvette
What could have been a disaster for this dealer turned out to be a positive experience.
Happy Ending
The story of a C8 Corvette owner named Michael and Fremont Chevrolet is one that many enthusiasts are already quite familiar with. Michael took his new Corvette in for service a while back after it began making an unusual noise, which wound up being little more than a loose spark plug. Things went pretty much as normal during this service visit, or at least Michael thought, though this typically mundane trip to the dealer wound up becoming quite the story later on. Thankfully, it does have a happy ending.

Taking a Joyride
As most are aware by now, Michael reviewed the footage from his C8’s Performance Data Recorder following his visit to the dealer, only to find some pretty horrific footage showing a service technician taking his car on a spirited joyride down the highway. During that jaunt, he raced a Dodge Charger, weaving in and out of traffic at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.
Long Test Drive
The test drive lasted for nearly 16 miles, which seems a bit long by anyone’s standards, and the tech was blatantly speeding and committing various other traffic violations along the way, as we can see in the footage provided by Michael via Reddit.
Deal of a Lifetime
After that video went viral, Michael’s dealership offered him $500 in detailing services to make up for the offense. However, Fremont’s owner – Inder Dosanjh – soon contacted Michael and made him an offer he couldn’t refuse – a brand new replacement for his C8.
Making Good
Michael’s C8 was a 2021 model, so the dealer offered to replace it with a 2022 that was equipped with the same features as his own car, as well as the ones he missed out on due to supply chain issues. Fremont also threw in an extended warranty and covered the taxes on the new Corvette to boot.
Taking Advantage
Those features included GM’s front lift system, as well as upgraded front seats, to name a couple. Needless to say, Michael took advantage of this offer and walked away with something even better than what he started with, which is an impressive story indeed.
Rare Story
Typically, we hear little more than negative stories about dealership experiences, particularly in today’s world of shortages and greedy markups. Thus, it’s nice to come across a positive story for once, as well as a sign that there are still reputable dealers out there in the world.
