C6 Corvette Buggy Offers Open-Air Experience
The C6 Corvette doesn’t get much purer in terms of peak performance than in stripped-down buggy form.
Vette Kart
Who would have known that the fun project taken on by Roadkill show would become a build style for Corvettes? Back in 2014, when the Motortrend show began the journey of turning a Corvette into an Ariel Atom competitor of sorts. Their creation became the world’s first of many ‘Vette Karts.’

Maximizing Performance
Since then, we’ve seen numerous professional builders and garage heroes alike try their hands at building skinned Corvettes. The appeal is certainly understandable. Being well-balanced, powerful, and low-to-the-ground, Corvettes present the opportunity for on-track superiority. So the urge to strip it down to the bare essentials in search of maximizing performance is only natural.
Deep Inventory
This particular example of a Vette Kart is currently available to purchase through a dealer in Missouri. RP Exotics in St. Louis have a deep inventory of expensive European sports cars and supercars. Interestingly, though, the listing for the Buggy touts it as “positively the funnest, most exhilarating driving experience” in their inventory.
Bare Bones
Having been stripped of all of its exterior panels, this 2007 Corvette has been equipped with a full roll cage. Professionally welded, the cage covers the passenger compartment. It also extends back to the rear where a large rear wing has been mounted. The tubular cage also extends at the front. The Corvette’s lights have been replaced by much simpler units at both ends. This build also sports factory wheels from a C7 Z06.
No Rowing Needed
The cabin remains largely unaltered. At least the portions that the driver and passenger can interact with. The odometer on this beast shows 97K miles. The car comes with a factory 6-speed automatic transmission. It’s peculiar, given the car’s apparent ‘pure performance’ motto. But that’s a plus in the book of those of us who prefer not to row through the gears! The asking price is currently set at $19,995.
