Envisioned as a ride-hailing car, the Holograktor adopts a unique 2+1 seating layout and can be either driven conventionally or remotely with a 5G and satellite internet connection by a qualified driver using the car’s cameras, radar, mapping, and sensors. When driven remotely, the steering wheel slides forwards and fits into a groove in the dashboard.
This will allow passengers to “relax without relying on immature autonomous-driving systems,” according to WayRay. “The idea is that you can choose Uber Black, Uber SUV, or Uber Holograktor,” WayRay founder and CEO Vitaly Ponomarev explained. “And if you choose the Holograktor, your ride will be subsidized by sponsored content so that the price will be much lower.” The single rear “throne” seat was inspired by data that showed 80 percent of Uber trips are made with just one passenger, while the holographic system for the rear passenger is stored in a boxy roof attachment called the “Shrimp.”
