Nissan small SUV’s moody colour scheme said to be inspired by upcoming superhero movie
Nissan has released pictures of its new Nissan JUKE Kiiro it has created in partnership with the latest Batman movie that’s out later this year.
Despite a complete absence of Batwings or any Bat insignia usually associated with the Caped Crusader, Nissan designers insist the limited JUKE’s dark tones draw parallels with the Dark Knight.
Kiiro, incidentally, is Japanese for yellow and there’s accents of this hue used on the bumpers and side sills.
Elsewhere, there’s a Ceramic Grey body and a black paint used for the roof which also features white graphics that are repeated on the door mirrors.
Larger 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels are standard, while the front bumper also gains an aluminium bash plate.
Within the cabin there’s black cloth seats that feature yellow stitching and get black and metallic grey inserts.
Yellow stitching reappears on the centre arm rest, centre console, door panels and dash, while a Kiiro badge sits pride of place ahead of the gear selector.
As standard there’s an 8.0-inch infotainment system that gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, plus navigation with live traffic updates.
Under the bonnet the JUKE Kirro gets a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 84kW and 200Nm and is combined with either a six-speed manual or an optional dual-clutch transmission.
Nissan says it will produce just 5000 examples of the JUKE Kiiro for its global markets, with the small SUV priced from £19,200 ($A36,400) in the UK market.
The new Batman movie, meanwhile, sees Twilight actor Robert Pattison don the Batsuit for the first time when it premieres on March 4 in London.
