It comes with a 723-horsepower V8 and plenty of notoriety.
An award-winning tribute to the original Big Oly Trophy Truck will go under the hammer at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale on 21 January. In fact, this is the tribute.
The tribute car is as close to the original as you're going to get, and it will likely be cheaper than the actual car. The famous first-generation Ford Bronco rally car sold for a staggering $1.8 million in May 2021 and was rolled at the 2022 NORRA Mexican 1000 a year later. The vehicle only suffered cosmetic damage and was righted and continued the race. Many people wondered why someone would rally a $1.8 million classic, but the folks here at CarBuzz respect that kind of enthusiasm. If you buy this near-perfect tribute, we recommend you do the same.

This tribute car is bound to be better at rallying, as it was built from the ground up using a one-off tube frame chassis. You wouldn't want to roll it, however. Every vehicle part is either polished, nickel-plated, anodized, or covered in 24-karat gold.
The tribute car is powered by a 438 cubic-inch 351W Dart Block Ford V8 engine, claimed to produce 723 horsepower. All that power is sent to the wheels via a three-speed automatic, and the car is entirely road legal and exempt from smog legislation. We're betting the cops in California will love it.
Upgrades to the engine include Ross competition ceramic-coated pistons, Ford Performance CNC heads, a forged steel crank, a Peterson 5-stage dry-sump pump system, a K&N filter, a Bassani custom stainless-steel exhaust system, and a Race Proven Inc. alternator to name just a few.

If you do want to take it racing, it's up to the task. The front suspension comprises brass-plated upper and lower A-arms, Bilstein shocks and coilovers, and two-inch bump stops. At the rear, it has brass-plated four-link trailing arms and the same Bilstein setup and bump stops. According to the Barrett-Jackson posting, it has 31 inches of wheel travel.
The interior is a lot more advanced than Big Oly. It has PRP seats and harnesses, and it is equipped with Autometer gauges and a Lowrance GPS system.
Even though it's not as famous as the original, this car has been featured in many magazines and websites and has won several prizes, including awards from SEMA. If you can't get your hands on this vehicle, Saleen's Big Oly kit for the Ford Bronco is still available.
