autos, cars, nissan, ram, around the tracks: nissan delivers ramen noodles on wheels

When we’re not creating it ourselves, the Drive team spends a lot of time finding and consuming motoring content from all over the world.

Here’s a handful of the photos, articles, videos or social media posts that most caught our eye last week. Some of them are brand new, others have been online for a while.

Enjoy them – just not too much, okay?

Nissan introduces ramen on wheels

Is there are cooler way to serve ramen than on wheels? Japanese automaker, Nissan, has manufactured an electric scale model that dishes up ramen bowls.

The intention is to showcase the smoothness and proficiency of the e-4ORCE electric AWD system, which is fitted in the Nissan Ariya EV.

During a demonstration at a Japanese restaurant the ‘motorised server tray’ proved it could maintain stability at high speeds and during deceleration, without spilling its belongings.

The server packs two electric motors operating independently on each axle, and to ensure smooth acceleration and deceleration, each motor has received a special tune from Nissan’s engineers – just like its Ariya.

We look forward to finding out how to purchase one as who wouldn’t to show this off at a dinner party?!

This Lamborghini Countach gets its first wash in 20 years

It’s bizarre to think that someone would leave such an iconic car in a garage for so long, and without washing it.

This Lamborghini Countach is a 1985 model and has been living in a garage in the US for the past 20 years.

In the video the team from Ammo NYC pull the supercar from the garage in a very poor state with parts beside it, including the rear wing which had been removed.

During the cleaning process some gruesome discoveries were made including a mouse nest which was living in the boot beneath the original carpets.

Once the car is completely detailed inside and out, it looks brand-spanking new. Let’s hope the owner doesn’t leave it to collect dust for another 20 years.

Apocalypse manufacturing does it again and it’s not just the extra wheels that make this Bronco conversion super cool

Apocalypse Manufacturing has delivered another wild conversion with this Ford Bronco Dark Horse. The creation adds the additional wheels and length to the average Bronco, providing space for a fully functional bed and extra axle underneath it.

It has ditched the factory top, replacing it with a bespoke fiberglass unit, while the twin-turbo V6 engine has been tuned, scoring larger injectors.

This model is good for 294kW, but the team say that with future builds we can expect to see a 514kW-plus supercharged 5.0-litre ‘Coyote’ V8 engine upgrade.

What’s more, it fits 20-inch SFJ wheels, 37-inch Patagonia tyres, a 102mm lift kit and steel side steps. This unique ute is heading to auction on April 9 at Barrett-Jackson in Palm Beach, Florida, with pricing details yet to be announced.

Polestar creates bespoke sounds but they aren’t for inside its vehicles

Automaker Polestar has commissioned a popular Swedish composer, Lisa Nordström, to create soundtracks specifically for its Spaces (i.e. showrooms).

The brands intention was to enhance the experience of Polestar spaces with four dedicated ambient soundtracks. They run together to make nine hours of ambient soundscapes representing the hours of morning, midday, afternoon, and evening.

The four tracks have been named after the Polestar 2’s exterior colours – Void, Snow, Midnight and Moon.

The soundscapes can be downloaded from most major music platforms including Spotify.

The largest taxi operator in Scandinavia will take part in testing electric vehicles for Volvo, and a new wireless charging system.

Using XC40 Recharges, the drivers will conveniently park up on a special receiver that wirelessly connects to charging pads (made by Momentum Dynamics) embedded in the street, meaning the driver won’t need to exit their vehicle.

The pad is capable of charging the vehicle at up to 40kW – nearly as quick as a DC fast-charging socket.

The vehicles are expected to be on the go often, operating in excess of 12 hours per day. The company will drive each vehicle more than 100,000km per year, providing Volvo with imperative data and insight for its EV technology.
