The air-conditioning started acting weird after 100 km only but overall I am quite satisfied with the vehicle.
BHPian Sid13 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.
I have taken the plunge and have brought home my 2nd VW. This time Virtus 1.0 Highline.
Thanks to all my fellow members who helped me take the decision with much valuable information.
On the 2nd day of ownership after about 100 KMs the A/C mechanism started making engagement and disengagement sounds while driving also the power loss and gain were immediately felt on the gas pedal. I called SC, and they came and picked up the vehicle. I had asked them about the SW update etc. They said that the 2023 models don’t need it as it’s already updated from the factory.
Anyhow, by evening they returned the vehicle and now that issue has not occurred to date. I have no clue what they did and if they updated the SW.
The A/C hissing noise is there but only during the initial few KMs of running. Once the cabin is reasonably cooled, this noise doesn’t occur.
I am quite satisfied with the vehicle and coming from a Polo I got adjusted to the vehicle pretty fast.
The air conditioner is not comparable to Jap or Korean cars and so was the case with my earlier Polo. I strongly feel the AC of Skoda and VW small cars are tuned to European specs and not suitable for Indian conditions. However, I don’t feel this is a problem not livable considering other positives.
Now, can anyone suggest good quality 3d mats which are a perfect fit for Virtus? I am not a fan of all coverage 7d mats, I don’t like their looks or lack of convenience to clean them.
My Polo had star brand 3d Mats and it lasted 8 years with zero quality issues.
I don’t think that brand is available anymore. A member had posted pics of rubber 3d mats (GFX brand) posted in the forum which look well priced (around 4000 Rs) and of reasonably good quality with raised edges. However, I am not very comfy with rubber mats as I feel they would release harmful elements when they heat up and when they age.
The only good-looking 3D mat I saw for Virtus online was of Pharoah brand.
Here’s what BHPian kaushiksudra had to say about the matter:
Congratulations on your purchase. Wish you happy and safe motoring. Have been using GFX mats, and are a pretty good fit. For the price, I feel they’re really good.
