The motorcycle definitely looks & feels bigger than the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.

Had the opportunity to finally test ride the Super Meteor 650 and was very pleasantly surprised.
I took an astral green out and about for around 30 minutes covering 6-7kms. A mix of traffic, empty stretches, roads as smooth as the surface of the moon, and speed breakers.
- The bike handles very well in all conditions, and for me at least, in a manner that’s comfier than the int/gt 650.
- The weight, while very high on paper, is masked well. In part thanks to the low centre of gravity and the longer wheelbase. Once on the move, even at crawling speeds, the weight isn’t an issue.
- The suspension has been a big talking point. I felt it was perfect. Stiff enough to not be bouncy at higher speeds, and stiff enough to not be uncomfortable over bumps and speed breakers. The front with its USD shocks felt confidence-inspiring.
- The mapping & gearing is spot on. Makes good use of the available power and provides oodles of Torque at any sane speed in any gear.
- Ergos were typically cruiser based but felt natural after a bit in the saddle. It may be an acquired seating style, but it sure is interesting.
- Overall, the bike definitely looks and feels bigger than its 650 siblings. The quality of parts & of the bike as a whole has tremendously improved.
If I were in the market for a second bike, the SM650 would be right at the top of the list.
