20k-Mile 1998 Corvette Is One Fine Time Capsule
For those that want a clean and original example of the fifth-gen Corvette.
Rare Find
The C5 Corvette, while not some sort of prized and valuable collectible, has earned its place in the collector car world as a fantastic sports car value. That means finding clean, low-mile examples will be more difficult moving forward as folks purchase and modify them, though this 1998 model that recently crossed the block at Bring a Trailer certainly fits that particular mold.

Low Miler
The Nassau Blue beauty has just 20k original miles on the clock and looks no worse for wear, which is not the case with most C5 Corvettes running around these days. It’s also equipped with the Z51 Performance Package and was acquired by the selling dealer from the original owner.

Appealing Find
Outside of a paint chip on the hood, the exterior of this C5 is essentially flawless and bone stock, including the factory 17″ and 18″ alloy wheels wrapped with 245/45 front and 275/40 rear Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. It’s a time capsule of sorts for a modern classic, which makes this Corvette quite appealing.

Amenities
The same goes for the black interior, which is in good shape with nothing more than the typical wear one would expect to find in a vehicle that’s nearly a quarter-century old. Amenities inside the cabin include power-adjustable seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, and a Delco CD stereo with a Bose sound system.

Clean and Original
Black leather seats complement all of the aforementioned goodies, and they’re in pretty solid shape as well, save for the typical wear. Otherwise, this interior is a bit of a time warp back to a different era, a surprisingly stock cabin that hasn’t even seen its factory head unit replaced, as is often the case.

Decent Power
Power for this C5 comes from GM’s 5.7-liter V8, which cranks out a still-respectable 345 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Even better, it’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission that sends that power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.

Quite a Bit of Car
Put it all together, and you’ve got a very nice example of a fifth-gen Corvette that’s also a solid investment. Regardless, this car still brought pretty good money at auction, eventually selling for just over $24k. For that price, somebody got quite a bit of car.
