The event takes place from July 31 to August 5.
The recently announced Nissan Z Nismo will publicly appear next month, likely for the first time, at the 36th annual ZCCA Z car convention, better known as ZCON. Whether this will be prefaced by a full reveal, details included, is unknown.
The event will take place at the Ontario Convention Center near Los Angeles, California, and attractions will include a judged car show, area drives, and a social night at a nearby brewery, among other things. The event runs from July 31 to August 5, but the Z's presentation is reportedly scheduled for the 1st.
This may very well mark the first public appearance of the new Nissan Z variant on US soil, but we suspect that an online reveal will take place before then.

What can we expect? Thanks to the teaser video posted last week, we know that the uprated Z will get numerous traditional red and black accents, a unique front fascia and rear bumper, a rear-arch-hugging spoiler, new alloy wheels (likely from Rays Engineering), and special seats.
In less positive news, a leaked order guide has revealed that the Nissan Z Nismo will only be available with a nine-speed automatic transmission – no manual here. Hopefully, the addition of new styling elements, a beefier powertrain, and that all-important Nismo badge will be enough to justify the inevitably steep premium that will be tacked onto the regular Z's price.

So what can we expect under the hood? The same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 VR30DDTT engine should carry over, sending power to a limited-slip differential on the rear axle. How much power this will produce remains to be seen, but we will definitely get more than 400 horsepower as on the current range-topper. Some rumors have suggested as much as 500 ponies could be on the cards, but we'd take that with a pinch of salt.
Pricing will likely be north of $60,000 – excluding obscene dealer markups. Hopefully, the car arrives soon and without any production issues – the regular Z is being delayed by paint and/or supply problems.
